Information About Our Services
What is a Sunday worship service like?
Our church is a branch of The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts. Sunday worship includes prayer, music, and reading the Bible Lesson Sermon consisting of selections from the Bible (KJV) and correlated passages from the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. These two books serve as Pastor for the church. Two Readers are elected by the membership to conduct the service.
What happens at a Wednesday evening meeting?
In addition to music and prayer, brief readings from the Bible and Science and Health are shared on a contemporary topic. The meeting is then opened to the congregation to share experiences, testimonies of healing and remarks resulting from the study and application of the teachings of Christian Science.

What is Sunday School like?
Sunday School, which shares space with our Reading Room, is held at the same time as our worship service and is open for children and youth up to the age of 20. The first lessons help students to understand and apply the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes and the Lord’s Prayer as touchstones in their lives; Bible-based instruction includes how to pray effectively to address and heal the challenges students face in today’s world. Childcare for children too young to attend Sunday School or services is provided.
What can you do in a Christian Science Reading Room?
Our Reading Room is a quiet place to learn more about Christian Science and prayer that heals. You can read the weekly Bible Lesson and our monthly and weekly periodicals filled with accounts of healing resulting from Christianly scientific prayer; find inspiring music CDs, Bibles in many languages and translations, and all the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer of Christian Science; there is easy online search capability to find relevant passages in the Bible and Science and Health to support your spiritual growth. You can read world news in both the online edition of The Christian Science Monitor and the print edition. It is a place to pray, ask questions and learn more about God.
